The Following are some examples of the projects you help support:
Business Retention & Expansion Project (BR&E):
This project aims to foster the economic well-being of our community by addressing the needs of existing businesses through personal business visits. The objectives include:
Identifying and addressing the needs, concerns, and opportunities of local businesses to enable appropriate responses and capitalize on development opportunities.
Demonstrating the community’s pro-business attitude and facilitating effective communication with local businesses.
The BR&E survey helps determine the future plans and needs of local businesses and assesses the community as a business location. This information guides future economic development activities.
In collaboration with the Simcoe County Federation of Agriculture, the Christian Farmers Federation of Ontario, and the Holland Marsh Grower’s Association, Nottawasaga Futures hosts an annual AgKnowledge forum. This event addresses the numerous challenges faced by the agricultural community and offers valuable information through professional presentations, networking opportunities, and a chance to share experiences.
The Business Excellence Resource Centre:
The centre’s objective is to offer business counseling and advisory services to new and existing South Simcoe businesses to promote growth and sustainability. We provide free professional business coaching, research data access, a business library, government publications, and business registrations.
This program serves as a liaison between local communities, residents, film production companies, and other stakeholders, ensuring a positive experience for film producers and fostering local economic impact.
Annual Business Excellence Awards:
These awards celebrate strong businesses and individuals in the community who demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement, business success, quality management, leadership, creativity, and community involvement.
This initiative aims to develop innovative, action-oriented methods for local communities to protect and improve local environments. The program focuses on restoring and protecting community shorelines and streams in the Lake Simcoe and Nottawasaga River watersheds while raising community awareness and appreciation of local water resources through volunteer participation.
Youth Entrepreneurship Program:
The Nottawasaga Youth Entrepreneurship Program offers at-risk, rural youth entrepreneurial experiences through one-on-one business counseling and mentorship.
