Our client is searching for an Accounting Assistant to fill a key roll in the organization. Candidates must have a college or university degree in Accounting or Finance or a minimum of 3 years Accounting experience.
Duties Include:
- Managing both accounts payable and accounts receivable, including obtaining all required authorizations for invoice payment
- Assisting with invoicing, billing, collecting, and record-keeping
- Preparing journal entries, bank reconciliations, petty cash, credit card reconciliations and other reconciliations as required
- Identifying, troubleshooting, and investigating discrepancies
- Balancing and posting end of day transactions from the point-of-sale system
- Posting cash receipts from all sources
- Assisting in the preparation of the annual audit
- Preparing ad hoc financial reports
- Supporting the management of the company’s website
- Organizing and maintaining company files, including employee training records
- Reconciling credit card accounts and management expenses
- Championing the Health & Safety Committee
- Other duties/special projects as assigned
- A college or university degree in Accounting or Finance or working toward a degree would be considered a strong asset
- Experience working with Jonas Club Management software would be a considerable asset
- Familiarity with processing credit card transactions online, as well as PAD and EFT payments
- Excellent communication and organization skills
